Monthly Reads July

This month has been a lazy summer month indeed. I managed to read 4 books (as opposed to my average which is somewhere around 7-10 per month) and reviewed one Bible. Next month will be more diligent because I have more review deadlines and maybe a little bit more free time. As always, below are the books and Bibles I’ve read this month with a little synopsis and a link with where to buy them.

The Reformation and the Irrepressible Word of God A collection of essays on the Reformation and the Bible from distinguished professors.

Richard Dawkins, C. S. Lewis and the Meaning of Life An Oxford academic reflects on two other Oxford academics though the title noticeably lacks the Oxford comma.

The Sacrifice of Praise Herman Bavinck’s book on confession is re-translated for a new generation.

ESV Jesus Bible Brings out the focus of Scripture on the person of Christ in both the New and Old Testaments.

Is God Anti-Gay? Sam Allberry addresses the question “Is God anti-gay?” as well as answers question about homosexuality and the Bible and God’s design.

If you follow these monthly summaries, you may have noticed that I usually end by sharing thought-provoking or interesting videos and articles. I’ve decided to make separate posts for that now! So if you’re looking for suggestions on articles to read check out this post and keep an eye out for upcoming posts with video links!

So tell me what you’ve read this month in the comments below!
